Elle Jesus is an Artist and Poet who got her start with spoken word poetry attending Vancouver Writers Festival and Verses Festival of Words, specifically with the Hullabaloo youth Spoken Word Festival. However she was first published at age six with a poem entitled The Wind Fairy. Elle’s art is mainly concerned with themes of identity, substance abuse, feminism, mental health, and in a general sense figuring out how to express her feelings. Elle was the former captain of the Sardis Secondary School’s Spoken Word team, and continues to volunteer in poetry workshops at Sardis Secondary. Currently, Elle is continuing her practice in Victoria B.C. as a student working on multiple writing and studio projects. Her objective is to make peace with herself through creative expression, and she hopes others will make an effort to do the same. Elle’s involvement with the arts continues to grow as she remains 5’3”. If you would like to contact Elle, feel free to locate the nearest overpriced coffee shop, thrift store or your local, feral neighbourhood cats.
